How hard is it to setup my PDA to Synchronize with my computer
I am sure that many feel the way that you do. Most people want to purchase a tool such as a PDA and be able to just have it work seamlessly. The good news is that the software to synchronize your Outlook with the PDA has gotten better over the years.
Upon opening the Motorola box; look for the quick start guide. This guide will help you become familiar with the PDA unit; terms used and will walk you through the setup and initialization of your new PDA.
I would suggest from your question that you perform a PC to PDA synchronization. This type of synchronization is between the PDA unit and your Microsoft Outlook client only. SO to keep your PDA synched you would connect to your computer via the USB cable via the desktop charger unit. The desktop charger not only charges your PDA but also provides the connection needed to the computer.
The actual setup is not too difficult. You should have been provided a CD with Microsoft ActiveSync. Install this program before you connect your PDA to the computer. Once you have installed this software, and then connect the PDA unit. The ActiveSync software will tell you that it has found a new device; it will capture the device name, and then the software should ask you how you are connecting, select USB, and continue.
Once the software has been setup, Microsoft ActiveSync will automatically begin the synchronization process. To keep your unit synchronized, just place your PDA into the charging cradle, and the ActiveSync software will do the rest.
